Since Dave got Clare a really nice new bike in Oct we told her that was her birthday present and that we wouldn't be getting her another nice present or having a party. She was happy with that plan and she has loved her bike! It was a great purchase!
Clare did get to choose family dinner and invited a couple of families over to join us. For the menu she picked her favorite dinner: ratatouille over pasta with Parmesan cheese and for dessert she wanted chocolate trifle and strawberry trifle. It was a delicious night! My friend Mel brought some amazing wheat rolls and rosemary bread to go with dinner. All together there were 6 adults and 11 kids. It was a fun and NOISY night!
Dave didn't get Clare another b-day gift but the rest of us still got her something. The kids got her a watch, a book (Flora and Ulysses by Kate DiCamillo, a book she had been wanting), a few crafty things and I gave her two tickets to Music Man for her and me to go in May. (there is a great deal here on a couple of the shows where on kid night you can buy one ticket, get one FREE...pretty amazing)
