Today is Mom's birthday. She would be 56 years old. Amazing that it has been 13 years without her. It is a long time.
Tonight Clare planned a picnic at the cemetery so we went over and spent an hour. It was nice. We were the only ones in the cemetery for most of the time. One man came waaaayyy across the cemetery to clean a grave. Lex walked down and talked to him. He said his son died as a teenager. Lex told him that her grandma had died and it was her birthday. She is not afraid of anything. It was totally dark and she walked down all by herself to talk to this man.
I packed a couple of snacks my mom liked. Cream cheese sandwiches are a treat she used to make. Cream cheese, honey and raisins on bread. I like it. nobody else did. I also packed chocolate raisins and mini, mini peanut butter cups (the size of chocolate chips) which were other treats she liked.
What a great memory for your family. And how neat that her namesake planned the picnic:)
