Christmas parties

One of the docs Dave works with, Navaz, hosts a Christmas dessert party each year. She makes the most beautiful and decadent desserts you could imagine. This gingerbread house is all real and home made. Amazing. We took the kids this year since her party was right after the church party. It was the most stressful 15 minutes of my life. She lives on the 31st floor of a high rise in downtown. It is beautiful but with the kids bouncing around and my fear of heights I was  a total wreck. Jo kept wanting to lean over the edge to see the train tracks.   I have passed on my fear of heights to Clare so she wouldn't even go outside to see the view and said she was not happy to be in the house one bit!!  We're a little neurotic!

Santa at our ward Christmas Party was our favorite primary teacher Brother Brown. He was Clare's teacher a few years ago and has been a permanent and enthusiastic fixture in primary for the last few years. They loved sitting on his lap. In our family we know that the "Real" Santa only comes out on Christmas Eve to deliver presents. Other times you see santa is is just nice people dressed up like Santa. We taught this starting when Clare was pretty little because she was TERRIFIED of Santa! We always let her know who was Santa so she wouldn't be as scared. JoJo is scared of Santa and we didn't make her sit on his lap!
