since we've been home

Since I got home from our trip on the 17th it's been a whirlwind. Dave is  SUPER busy at work. The summer is really crazy. More elective surgeries, more kids getting hurt, people on vacation makes for just a crazy hospital environment.

Meanwhile our house was put on the market for lease so we keep having to leave the house for select hours while showings happen. I am not a great housekeeper so it is SUPER stressful trying to get it show ready. I'd say I pretty much fail but do the best I can.

Also, it was only a few weeks ago we found out that UCSD would pay for a full service move so I have spent HOURS on the phone and email and stressing trying to get that worked out. Finally yesterday, less than a week before our move it was finalized. It is such a relief that Dave doesn't have to pack at all and we don't have to load our own truck. Now we can enjoy our last weekend here, which Dave has off: date night, family activities, dinner with friends.

It is hotter than one can imagine. The swimming pool is no longer refreshing. We don't need to bring towels to the pool since it is warm enough to just drip dry.

Cute JoJo learned to swim! So proud of her!

More hours on the phone disconnecting utilities here in Houston!

Lots of play dates with friends!

Sun - Father's Day and book club.  Rishelle Scott gave an amazing sacrament meeting talk. The primary kids sang Daddy's Homecoming and Daddy, tell me a story. Both were sweet. For dinner I got a ham, Dave's favorite and we had over our book club : Lott's, Francis and Scotts. We had a very fun evening discussing many things including the marriage book we had picked for book club The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work.

Tues night - Soren's 1st birthday. Also JoJo's 4th birthday was celebrated. Since she wanted to do it here with our Houston friends, we combined with Soren. I made strawberry trifle.

Wed night we invited the Hatches to the pool and brought pizza and watermelon.

Last night we had a great girls night out to a creperie and then chocolate bar! Chocolate bar was super amazing. I had a "shot" of hot chocolate 4oz. that was the best thing I've ever eaten. I also tried out all the ice creams and brought some ice cream home for Dave and I to share tonight.   (this was another selling point about Chocolate Bar...you can try all the ice creams before picking one. They were all divine).

Friday night- Double date with the Hansens to Torchy's! Delicious!

Mon night - our final FHE with some families at the Y pool.
